Quitting Christianity?

we live in a sinful world…a world whose foundations have crumbled, choking in the smoke of its own destruction.

we live with a church so caught up in its selfishness and idolatry it cannot see that it is “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.”

what if those whose eyes have been opened, whose hearts have been stirred just said, “no more!”?  what if we all checked out…checked out of the world and its sin…checked out of a church and its failings?

what if we lived a new way – a way of true religion – a way of justice and mercy, of radical righteousness and an equally radical love?

this is not a protest of anger or politics…but it is a protest nonetheless.  it is a protest of disengagement.  we just won’t follow their ways any longer!  we won’t go along with the sin, the idolatry, the selfishness anymore, turning a blind eye to the suffering that surrounds us!  We will not be a part of it any longer!

this is our stand, this is our remonstrance, we are QUITTING CHRISTIANITY.

Amen. . God is proding my heart to ‘do’ the Word where in the past I only heard and spoke the Word. And HE is encouraging me to let the deeds speak for themselves…e.g. to visit the widows and ophans in their affliction, and so forth. He is guiding my heart to stop talking and spend that energy ‘doing’ obedience. And recently He is really tugging at me to let my answer by only ‘yea or nea.’ Can you imagine the impact on the world that would happen if Christians stopped talking and just did the ‘greater works?’
